Wine and dine
Caveau, Woolton Village
Named after the French word given to a small cellar used to house fine wine, this intimate venue prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients to produce contemporary cuisine which has been uniquely designed by chef Dave Roberts.
La Crepe Rit, Albert Dock
Located on Albert Dock, ‘The Laughing Pancake’ offers visitors an authentic taste of classic French crepes alongside an extensive selection of ‘galettes’ – large buckwheat flour pancakes native to Brittany filled with a range of tasty ingredients including egg, meat, cheese, fish and vegetables.
No list of Merseyside’s best French restaurants would be complete without this exclusive Oxton eatery which has proudly held a prestigious Michelin star for the past eight years. Chef patron Marc Wilkinson caters for just 12 diners at a time and with such an exalted reputation, reservations are at a premium.
