Britain’s most successful swimmer Mark Foster is heading to Liverpool later this month to mentor what could be the next generation of elite athletes.
The six times world champion, who has 11 European championship gold medals to his name, is hosting a special swim camp at Lifestyles Everton Park sports centre on 31 May.
Joined by fellow Olympian and world champion Katy Sexton, the pair will be on hand to give top coaching tips to youngsters on how to improve their stroke, increase speed and also learn the latest training techniques.
A team of experts will be helping them out on the day, including other international swimmers, sports scientists, nutritionists, as well as strength and conditioning coaches.
Mark says: “I’m really looking forward to bringing my one day swim camp to Lifestyles Everton Park this May half term.
“I remember Duncan Goodhew visiting my club when I was 11 and he inspired me to be the best I can possibly be.
“When I stopped competing, I decided that I wanted to do whatever I could to help today’s young swimmers which is what my academy is all about.”
The swim camp is aimed at nine and 10 year olds who have county consideration times, or 11-18 year old competent swimmers who have passed their Stage 7 ASA, right through to young people who already swim competitively at club, county, regional or national level.
