A range of food and drink concepts are set to launch this year in a former Chinese restaurant opposite Liverpool’s Metquarter.
Mark Cesareo and his business partner have lined up a champagne bar, tapas-style bistro, international-inspired restaurant and jazz venue for the Ashcroft Buildings on Victoria Street.
Mark has told YM Liverpool that the pair plans to open ‘Champagne + Fromage’ and ‘Coucou Canard’ simultaneously in late March/April.
A restaurant called ‘37’ and the ‘Victoria Street Jazz Bar’ will be next to launch in May, with the complete building envisaged to be fully up and running by November.
Both Champagne + Fromage and Coucou Canard already have a presence in the city at the Grand Central Food Bazaar on Renshaw Street.
Champagne + Fromage offers a wide selection of Champagne alongside more than 50 soft and hard cheeses, whilst Coucou Canard describes itself as a “family-run artisan bistro specialising in simple cooking using locally sourced market fresh ingredients wherever possible”.
Originally built for billiard and snooker table manufacturer J. Ashcroft & Co. in the late 1800s, the Ashcroft Buildings opposite the Metquarter were last home to Mr. Ho’s Chinese restaurant.
