Constellations looking to future after Kickstarter misses target

Liverpool’s Constellations is looking to the future with positivity despite missing the target on its recent Kickstarter campaign.

The popular Greenland Street spot was looking to raise £60,000 to enhance the functionally of its Hinterlands venue at nearby Cains Brewery Village.

Constellations will relocate to Hinterlands in late autumn 2019 – making way for Legacie Developments to build 505 flats on land bounded by Greenland Street, Parliament Street, Great George Street, Newhall Street and St James Street.

Although the crowdfunder fell short of its target, raising £41,315, the team at Constellations says it has received a number of big event enquires thanks to the campaign.

Through the money raised from the deposits on the future events, Constellations hopes to complete 50% of the works it set out to achieve, including the installation of a heating system in time for the winter.

A spokesperson for the Baltic Triangle venue told YM Liverpool: “The attention that the campaign has brought to both venues has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The initial reason we had to launch the campaign was because we couldn’t take advanced booked at Constellations due to a lack of clarity on how long we had left at the venue.

“Having worked closely with the landlord and the new developer, we now have a solid move out date of late autumn 2019 and have been able to rapidly take advanced bookings because of the increased press surrounding the Kickstarter which is fantastic news.”

Constellations has also launched an online shop, so anybody who missed out on their Kickstarter pledge reward has the chance to purchase all the merchandise offered as part of the campaign.
