More than 170 new apartments have been given the go-ahead for a Kirkdale Road site in Liverpool.
Fast Growth Homes, based in the city, is behind the project which will also include ground floor commercial space.
Liverpool City Council’s planning committee approved the five and six-storey development for a vacant site during a meeting on Tuesday 7 August.
The scheme, proposed for land bounded to the south by the Kirkdale Road/Great Homer Street junction, has been designed by architects Falconer Chester Hall.
The mix of 18 studios, 69 one-bedroom and 90 two-bedroom apartments – totalling 177 homes – will also be accompanied by a courtyard garden at first floor level and a residents’ gym.
Alastair Shepherd, director at Falconer Chester Hall, says: “This development builds on regeneration already happening in the area, reinstating activity and the historic scale on one of Liverpool’s great roads.
“The city council deserve much credit for encouraging this form and quality of development.”
