Grilled meat will become the latest speciality to be served up on Bold Street when a new Kebabish Original restaurant opens up next month.
Known as K.O, the eatery has already achieved success on Lodge Lane having opened six years ago, and is now preparing to take over the former Ben’s Chicken in the city centre as its second outlet.
Brothers Moe and Wahee Ahmed are behind the new city centre venue, which will seat 70 to 80 diners and have a menu focused on locally sourced meats freshly cooked on a charcoal pit.
With work currently underway to transform the site ahead of its mid-November opening, Moe Ahmed says: “K.O has been a real success and we also have other eateries on Lodge Lane so we thought why not head to Bold Street.
“We’ve always been looking that area, even before the current rise of Bold Street.”
The city centre street has become a magnet for new eateries, and this latest opening will also be accompanied by the arrival of Crust, which will specialise in pizza cooked with a wood-fired oven, pasta and beer.
The Italian restaurant, taking over the neighbouring site which was previously occupied by House, is also lining up a mid-November opening.
