The site of a former Kirkdale cinema and bingo hall is to be transformed into homes after new plans were approved.
Liverpool City Council’s planning committee gave the green light to JCC Developments Ltd’s proposals for the Brewster Street and Selwyn Street site during a meeting yesterday (8 August).
It’s proposed that five townhouses and 29 apartments will be built in a part three, four and five-storey scheme where the Princess Cinema once stood.
The cinema was later converted into Princess Bingo Hall, which eventually shut in 2000 before the building was demolished in 2016.
A ground floor commercial space is also set to be included in the new development, along with associated parking, landscaping and ancillary works.
The apartments will include a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom properties.
