Knowsley’s Prescot Park homes could move step closer

Plans to build 173 new homes in Prescot could take a step forward next week.

Knowlsey Council’s planning committee is set to meet on Thursday (11 January) to discuss the development at Prescot Park.

The scheme, which is a mix of “high-quality” three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached properties, has been recommended for approval.

Applicant Taylor Wimpey already has outline planning permission for the development on Carr Lane but is now seeking approval for a reserved matters application which deals with outstanding details of the scheme including scale, landscaping and appearance of the 173 homes.

The final proposed layout for the development.

The homes are proposed for ‘parcel D’ of the former Prysmian Cables and Systems factory. Elsewhere on the site, Barratt Homes and Anwyl Homes are planning to build 150 and 119 homes respectively on separate plots.

A report recommending Taylor Wimpey’s project for approval reads: “The development planned is considered to be of a high quality and is one to which the remainder of the wider site will be able to respond to in terms of layout, landscaping and character.”
