Merseyside residents will have chance to reflect on 2016 and think about loved ones tonight (7 December) as a ‘Celebrate a Liverpool Life’ concert takes place in the city.
Hosted by R Charity, the event will kickstart a busy festive schedule to boost funds for equipment and services at the new Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The special concert will be held at Liverpool Cathedral and will feature Christmas carols and songs performed by pupils from St Mary’s College and Preparatory School.
The ticketed evening of entertainment will then be followed by a string of other events and activities including R Charity’s ’12 Days of Christmas’ programme of local choirs entertaining patients, staff and visitors to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital’s main entrance in the run up to the festive period.
A ‘Wear Your Christmas Jumper to Work Day’ will also take place on Friday 16 December, with people across the city being encouraged to participate in aid of the cause.
Ruth Waters, events fundraiser for R Charity, says: “2016 has been a really busy year for R Charity and Christmas gives us the perfect opportunity to thank our supporters and look back on another amazing year.
“Our ‘Celebrate a Liverpool Life’ concert is a great way to remember a loved one, reflect on the year or to put you in the mood for Christmas. We hope all our supporters and their families can come along to celebrate with us.”
