The location of Liverpool’s first cat café has been revealed.
Cat Café, which opened in Manchester last year, announced last month it plans to launch its Liverpool branch in spring 2018.
The Cat Café Liverpool has submitted a planning application to Liverpool City Council to turn 10 Bold Street into its latest venue.
The four-story retail unit near the bottom of Bold Street , opposite The Lyceum, was last used as a charity shop.
A post on the Cat Café Facebook page in October read: “A new city with a beautiful new kitty family.
“The same great experience with wonderful all inclusive drinks. Opening spring 2018.”
The Cat Café in Manchester, which hosts weekly ‘Cat Yoga’ sessions and film nights, is open every day of the week except Tuesdays when it’s closed for cat naps.
Special ‘Cat Nannies’ stay in the café overnight to make sure it’s kept clean and the kitties get some special one-on-one attention.
A document included with the planning application reads: “We feel that a Cat Cafe is a desirable and highly suitable response to the site at Bold Street. Our Manchester site demonstrates our vision for Cat Cafe design in that it resembles a home which is exactly what we want to create in Liverpool.
“The interior of 10 Bold Street will be comfy and cosy with lots of comfortable sofas and home furnishings. This provides a unique opportunity for us to base our interior design on a Georgian townhouse, taking the site back to its original heritage.
“Although many of the original features of the property have been lost on the ground and first floor, we plan to reinstate the original staircase linking the first and second floor as well as renovate the first and second floor to resemble a Georgian drawing room.”
