Metro Bank confirms plans for Liverpool store

Metro Bank has confirmed plans to open a store in Liverpool city centre as it expands its presence in the North.

Promising around 25 new jobs for the city, the Paradise Street store is the second northern branch lined up following the announcement of a Manchester opening.

The bank, which aims to inject competition into the small business banking market, has committed to launching 30 northern stores by 2025 after receiving £120 million from the Capability & Innovation Fund.

Metro Bank’s arrival in Liverpool city centre, which is scheduled for “later this year”, will bring more than 2,000 safe deposit boxes for customers to store valuables as coin counting facilities.

The banking chain also plans to deliver its National Curriculum approved, free financial education programme ‘Money Zones’ to schools and youth groups in the area.
