A vacant Toxteth site could be transformed into a four-storey apartment complex under new plans.
Proposals to construct 28 flats with a shared amenity area and ground floor commercial space on Bentley Road have been revealed.
The site, which lies within the Princes Park Conservation Area, previously played host to leasehold apartments.
Envisioned as housing a mixture of studio and one-bedroom flats, the new development would be “contemporary” in design and promises to take the existing colour palette of the surrounding area into account.
Although the ground floor of the proposed building has been earmarked for commercial or retail units, the application states that additional flats could replace them if the non-residential aspects of the plans are deemed unnecessary.
The applicant has already held a pre-application meeting with Liverpool City Council to discuss the vision for the site, and the local authority’s planning department was said to be “pleased” with the “modern approach” outlined in the proposals.
