McHale’s Irish American Bar, which was demolished as part of the £39 million regeneration of Lime Street, may have found a new home.
Plans have been submitted to Liverpool City Council which could see the well-known alehouse relocate across the road next to the Worlds Apart comic book store.
If approved, the pub would take up the space vacated by training company ‘Training Plus merseyside’ which formerly resided at 62-64 Lime Street.
The proposals include space for a function room and flagpoles which will fly Irish American flags outside.
There is no mention of the Statue of Liberty miniature replica which formerly sat above the bar, becoming somewhat of a local landmark during its time.
The statue was safely removed from the building during demolition but there is currently no word on whether it will form part of the new pub.
