The Pineapple Hotel on Park Road is to be transformed into shared living accommodation under new plans.
The well-known South Liverpool establishment, which also includes a pub, has been purchased by Liverpool Construction Group for an undisclosed sum.
Liverpool Construction Group, which specialises in accommodation for young professionals across Liverpool, says it’s planning to rebrand the hotel as “high-quality” shared living accommodation, subject to planning permission.
According to its website, the group is “a consortium of small investors that buy and redevelop residential and commercial property for profit”.
Geoff Parker of Liverpool Construction Group, says: “We have been developing property in Liverpool for the last four years for young professionals, with over 300 units rented.
“L8 is an exciting area so close to the city centre, lots of potential for redevelopment and steeped in history from the shipping trade.
“We already have property in our portfolio in L8 and we want to continue adding value to the area.”
The building, which sits opposite Tesco, has three storeys and has previously traded with 14 bedrooms.
It’s not known whether the Pineapple’s bar will be kept as part of the new plans.
