Night-time ambassadors to support bars, restaurants and visitors

New night-time ambassadors will be on hand to support Liverpool businesses, customers and visitors during busy weekend evenings.

The two new recruits have been appointed by Liverpool BID Company to work with restaurants, bars and hotels in the city centre’s BID areas, providing reassurance and support.

Louise Solan and Richard Higgins will mainly cover leisure and hospitality hot spots including Mathew Street, Bold Street, Church Street, Williamson Square and Castle Street between 7pm and 3am.

They’ll add an additional link between security staff at BID businesses, the BID-funded staff member at the City Watch team within Liverpool City Council’s CCTV control room, and Merseyside Police as they work to address anti-social behaviour, cleansing and environmental issues.

Bill Addy, chief executive of the Liverpool BID Company, says: “Our ambassadors have become the eyes and ears of the BID areas and our levy payers value the work they do.

“The addition of two night-time ambassadors extends this valuable service into the busier weekend evenings, providing extra support for our levy payers, and additional services to what the city council and police already provide.”
