Work to begin on Percy Place development following delay

Work is to begin immediately on the refurbishment of a listed Georgian terrace in Liverpool’s Canning neighbourhood.

Progress on Elliot Group’s £3.2 million Percy Place scheme had been held up over a right of way issue.

The development is formed of nine properties along Percy Street and Upper Parliament Street which have been empty since 2008.

The townhouses, which were last occupied as bedsits, will now be restored to “full family homes”.

Elliot Group director Elliot Lawless says he’d “hoped to have completed the project by now”, but that it was “right that we get things on the firmest possible footing”.

Elliot adds: “It was a little frustrating as we just had to sit it out whilst the freeholder ironed out a right of way issue.

“That’s done now so we’ve been able to complete on the acquisition and I have men on site already cracking on.

“After years of neglect it’s time to let these lovely homes write a new chapter.”
