Prescot Cables Football Club is kicking off the new season with support from housing developer Stewart Milne Homes.
The housebuilder has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal, and its name will adorn the team’s traditional amber coloured kit.
The backing forms part of Stewart Milne’s plans to engage with the local community as it begins work at its Callenders Green development in Prescot, which is set to deliver 68 new homes for the Knowsley area.
Prescot Cables FC, which has its first home game of the season at its Volair Park ground against Trafford this Saturday (18 August), also has a reserve team and 16-18s youth team as well as its first team.
Jamie Weston, director of the club which is run by volunteers and is a Community Interest Company owned by fans, says: “It is a real coup to have Stewart Milne as the clubs sponsors; to have this deal over two years also ensures a level of stability for the club going forward. We look forward to a great partnership with Stewart Milne.”
Lynne Vogel, regional sales manager at Stewart Milne Homes, adds: “We are always looking for opportunities to engage with local communities at all our developments.
“Since work on Callenders Green commenced in May, we have been looking for opportunities in Prescot and with the beginning of the football season approaching, working with Prescot Cables seemed like the perfect option. The team look great in their new kit and we wish them the best of luck in the season ahead.”
As Stewart Milne Homes expands its presence in the Liverpool City Region it was also recently named as the headline sponsor of this year’s NWPAs – Move Publishing’s annual awards to celebrate success across the North West’s residential and commercial property sectors.
The developer’s Callenders Green homes are due to be released in autumn 2018 with the remaining homes expected to be completed by summer 2019.
