Liverpool City Region property firm The Sovini Group has launched a drive for apprentices across the area.
Fifteen new opportunities are being created, bringing the total number of apprentices employed by the group up to 50 by September 2019.
Roy Williams, CEO of The Sovini Group which incorporates not-for-profit organisations including One Vision Housing and commercial entities such as Sovini Trade Supplies, says the move will “not only benefit [the] organisation, but it will have wider benefits for the communities” where it operates.
The vacancies range from a bilingual housing apprentice with Pine Court Housing Association to a warehouse apprentice based at Sovini Trade Supplies’ Ellesmere Port branch.
Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, has welcomed the recruitment drive, saying: “Increasing the number and range of apprenticeships available across our city region is vital, both to enable individuals to fulfil their potential and to ensure our businesses have the skills they need to succeed.”
Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, who is also backing the initiative by the group, which recently celebrated the contribution of rising starts by hosting its inaugural Apprentice Awards, adds: “Apprenticeships play an important role in the Liverpool City Region. They provide a real in-road into the world of work for young people in our city, giving them the on-the-job training and experience they need in today’s ever-competitive jobs and careers market.”
