FESTIVAL | Liverpool Irish Festival brings packed programme
The annual Liverpool Irish Festival is underway with its first weekend of events and entertainment taking place across the city.
From one of Ireland’s biggest musical acts, Kíla marking their 30th year with a gig at Arts Club tonight (19 October), to an Irish Craft Beer Festival at Handyman Supermarket across the weekend, there’s something for everyone in the packed programme.
CULTURE | Big literary names heading to the city
Sir Tony Robinson, best-selling crime author Val McDermid and 2018 Man Booker Prize nominee Sally Rooney are among the line-up at this weekend’s Liverpool Literary Festival (19-21).
A three-day programme of ticketed events at venues including University of Liverpool buildings and Tate Liverpool also includes a family event with Frank Cottrell-Boyce and a recording of ‘BBC Radio 4 Book Club’.
