The Jacaranda’s 60th anniversary, Run For Rhys & Bootle Music Festival
EVENT | Celebrate 60 years of The Jacaranda
Legendary Slater Street pub The Jacaranda, where The Beatles first played, will mark its 60th anniversary with three days of celebrations from 24-26 August.
The original venue and its recently opened Seel Street addition, Phase One will host entertainment including the ‘This is our Home’ exhibition, live music, DJs, beat poets and a Q&A with DJ, author and speaker Dave Haslam.
FAMILY | Run For Rhys brings fundraising and fun
Runners will help to boost funds for the Rhys Jones Community Centre on Sunday (26 August) when the second annual Run For Rhys takes place at Croxteth Park.
The 1 Mile Fun Run will get underway at 11am followed by a 5K run at 12pm, and the fun will continue until 3pm with a programme of entertainment, stalls and family activities in memory of Rhys Jones.

Grab a ticket to Bootle Music Festival and enjoy two days of live performances, real ales, family fun and wellbeing-focused activities on 25-26 August.
Taking place at Lock & Quay on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool canal, the event organised by the not-for-profit SAFE Regeneration will bring a line-up including acclaimed act Hue & Cry, and Tommy Scott from mid-nineties hit-makers Space.
