Exhibition Centre Liverpool is to be revamped into a new venue enabling more live entertainment to take place there.
Going by the name of Space by Echo Arena Liverpool, the site will accommodate up to 7,000 people – double the number of audience members who can currently stand at Echo Arena Liverpool.
Exhibition Centre Liverpool opened in 2015 as part of the city’s arena and convention centre complex, ACC Liverpool on the waterfront.
It has since been used for large exhibitions including MCM Liverpool Comic Con, British Style Collective and the International Business Festival and, according to ACC Liverpool, it will still continue to host such exhibitions, banqueting and conferencing events.
However the changes will also make way for the likes of large gigs to dance and major sporting events to take place at the centre
Commercial director Ben Williams says: “Space by Echo Arena Liverpool is the latest addition to our live events offer and complements Echo Arena, EchoTwo and The Auditorium Liverpool.
“Using the halls will enable us to host many more visitors all on one level – we currently host up to 3,600 people on the floor of the arena for gigs but this can now be almost doubled in Space by Echo Arena Liverpool.”
The first event to be held at the venue under its Space by Echo Arena Liverpool name is due to be announced this week.
