Housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes has spread some festive cheer in Wirral by donating Christmas trees to two hospitals.
Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals received the trees for a third year as part of Stewart Milne’s charitable partnership with Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH).
Staff from the company, which is currently building 180 family homes at its Upton Pines scheme in the area, were on hand to officially switch the tree lights on with hospital staff at Arrowe Park, while Woodchurch CE Primary School’s choir performed carols.
Victoria Burrows, head of fundraising at the WUTH Charity, says the donation will bring joy to staff and patients throughout this festive season, adding: “Being in hospital over the festive period can be difficult for patients and their families, so we try to make the experience as pleasant as possible. These beautiful trees will be displayed at our hospital entrances throughout the holidays, welcoming everyone who passes through our doors.
“We’d like to thank Stewart Milne Homes once again for this very kind donation which will help bring the spirit of Christmas to patients, their families and our staff who will be working around the clock throughout the festive period.”
Lynne Vogel, senior sales manager at Stewart Milne Homes, says: “We are passionate about supporting communities near our developments and we’re more than happy to make this Christmas donation once again to Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals.
“The Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust works tirelessly to treat patients throughout the year and hopefully these trees will help spread some festive joy to everyone spending time in both hospitals over the holidays.”
