Liverpool Welsh Choral
Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
To celebrate 50 years of the iconic cathedral, the Liverpool Welsh Choral will deliver a special musical performance. The group, which was then known as the Liverpool Welsh Choral Union, took part in the building’s 1967 opening concert.
River of Light
Wrap up warm for an evening of explosive Bonfire Night entertainment along the River Mersey. Pyrotechnic specialist Titanium Fireworks is behind the 2017 musical display, which will be accompanied by a host of street animation during the build-up.
Purple Rain: A Celebration of Prince
A nine-piece band celebrates superstar Prince’s life, music and legacy during a jam-packed show. Expect hits including ‘1999’, ‘Little Red Corvette’, ‘When Doves Cry’ and, of course, ‘Purple Rain’.
Girls Like That
Sennheiser Studio Theatre, LIPA
A gripping play exploring the dangers of growing up in the digital age and how the effects differ based on gender. Talented third year acting students from LIPA perform this latest version of the award-winning show, which was first showcased in 2013.
Eat Me + Homotopia present: Liberation 2067 – Drag Dinner Party
Invisible Wind Factory
Closing Homotopia Fesitval, this latest Eat Me + Preach event promises top drag artists and a three-course feast as, 50 years on from the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality, it looks to the future. An official afterparty will follow at the nearby Meraki.
Tainted Love – The Ultimate ’80s Party
Camp and Furnace
Prepare for a wild night of Madonna, Michael Jackson and mullets from 10pm-3am as the Baltic Triangle venue hosts ‘The Ultimate ‘80s Party’. There’ll also be free Babycham to the first 50 guests to help whisk attendees right back to the decade.
Pixels Ensemble: Remembrance
The chamber music players perform a special Remembrance concert including Olivier Messiaen’s ‘Quartet for the End of Time’ – a piece written during his time as a prisoner of war in German captivity.
The band are joined by supporting acts Lower Than Atlantis and Astroid Boys as they bring their latest tour to the city.
