Liverpool restaurant Yard & Coop has revealed ambitions to expand its premises with the addition of an outdoor seating area.
The Hanover Street eatery is seeking planning approval to create a pavement cafe area on its doorstep for open-air dining.
According to the proposals submitted to Liverpool City Council, the outdoor seating area would include tables and chairs, parasols, planters, a food cart/servery station and heating lamps.
The building’s previous occupant successfully applied for approval for the outdoor expansion, but the permission has lapsed.
Yard & Coop’s new application seeks to renew the permission which expired in September 2014.
The restaurant claims the plans were well received at pre-application meetings, but notes that the addition of outdoor seating will partly reduce the pedestrian access on Old Peter’s Lane.
A report to be discussed by the council’s planning committee reads: “The proposed is an external seating area/pavement cafe adjacent to Yard & Coop Liverpool restaurant. The seating area includes tables and chairs, enclosure with signage, parasols, planters, a food cart/servery and heaters/lighting.”
Yard & Coop, which also has a restaurant in Manchester, expanded into Liverpool in December last year.
