Plans for a new housing development on a plot of derelict land on Park Road in Dingle have been unveiled.

The proposed scheme from local housing association Plus Dane includes a mix of apartments and two-storey houses.

‘South Grove’ as it is to be known, would include six two-story houses alongside 12 apartments in a three-storey block. The development would also feature parking space for 16 vehicles, 12 bicycles and associated landscaping.

A document included with the planning application submitted to Liverpool City Council explains that the development is to “aid in the regeneration” of the area by “providing new high quality homes for the local community and restoring a brownfield site back into use”.

The 21,796 sq ft derelict plot on the corner of Park Road and South Hill Road was formerly a block of back-to-back terraced housing.

Plans for the new development, designed in association with Triangle Architects, were on display at Plus Dane’s Park Road premises in August 2014 but the planning submission was delayed until now as land transfers and legal agreements were resolved.
