A staple of the city’s corporate calendar since 2004, the YM Liverpool Property & Business Awards are organised by Your Magazine (YM) Liverpool – the city’s biggest and longest-running free magazine.

Leading lights from the Liverpool City Region’s property and business sectors will gather at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool on Wednesday, 25 November 2026 to once again reflect on another 12 months of achievements.

Last year’s awards saw accolades presented in almost 30 categories, ranging from ‘Property Developer of the Year’, ‘Business Leader of the Year’, and ‘Property Agency of the Year’ to ‘Build-to-Rent Development of the Year’, ‘Young Business Leader of the Year’, and ‘LCR Business of the Year’.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to veteran television and film producer and executive Colin McKeown MBE. Widely regarded as one of the ‘founding fathers’ of a thriving TV and film production industry outside London, Colin was joined on stage by legendary Liverpool actor Ricky Tomlinson.

The event also featured a special Q&A with Liverpool City Council’s corporate director of city development, Nuala Gallagher. The discussion focused on Liverpool’s economic growth and urban development under Nuala’s leadership since her appointment in February 2023.

Housebuilder of the Year

This award celebrates a housebuilder delivering high-quality homes at scale, demonstrating excellence in design, construction and contribution to the Liverpool City Region housing market.

Apartment Development of the Year

This award honours an outstanding apartment development that sets new benchmarks in design, quality, and sustainability whilst making a positive impact on the Liverpool City Region’s property market.

Build to Rent (BTR) Development of the Year

This category recognises a Build to Rent development offering high-quality homes, exceptional amenities, and an outstanding resident experience.

Best Large New Home Development

Honours a large-scale residential development of over 100 units that exemplifies excellence in design, specification, and construction quality.

Best Small New Home Development

Recognises a small-scale residential development of 100 units or fewer that showcases exceptional design, specification, and craftsmanship.

Best Affordable Housing Scheme

This award celebrates a housing scheme providing high-quality, accessible homes with excellent value, functionality, and long-term sustainability.

Best Student Accommodation Development

This category recognises a student accommodation development demonstrating excellence in design, quality, sustainability, and the overall student living experience.

Best Student Housing Operator

Honours an operator delivering exceptional management, service, and living standards for student residents.

Short Stay & Serviced Accommodation Operator of the Year

Recognises an operator achieving excellence in the management, performance, and guest experience of short-term and serviced accommodation.

HMO Management & Service Provider of the Year

This award celebrates a provider delivering high standards of management, compliance, and tenant experience within the HMO sector.

Property Management Company of the Year

Honours a company consistently providing high-quality property management, ensuring strong operational performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Build-to-Rent (BTR) Resident Experience Team of the Year

Recognises an on-site team creating exceptional resident engagement, community building, and operational excellence within a Build to Rent development.

This award is open to architectural firms based in the Liverpool City Region that have made significant contributions to standout residential and/or commercial developments over the past 12 months, both locally and nationally.

Building Contractor of the Year

This category honours a contractor completing high-quality construction projects with reliability, technical expertise, and outstanding project execution.

Property Marketing Team of the Year

This award will recognise the marketing team that has delivered outstanding initiatives, strategies, and campaigns in support of property developers or developments within the Liverpool City Region. Judges will be looking for creativity, measurable impact, and a clear understanding of the target market.

Property Industry Supplier of the Year sponsored by Marshall Property

This award will honour a company based in the Liverpool City Region which delivers exceptional products and/or services to the property industry both regionally and nationally – helping its clients achieve the greatest rental yield/sale price possible.

Residential Property Law Team of the Year

Recognises a legal team excelling in residential property law, providing expert advice, strong client service, and efficient transaction support.

Commercial Property Law Team of the Year

This category honours a legal team demonstrating excellence in commercial property law, advising on complex deals while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.

Liverpool City Region Law Firm of the Year

Celebrates a law firm delivering outstanding legal services across both commercial and private client work, demonstrating expertise, client care, and regional impact.

Liverpool City Region Business of the Year

Recognises a Liverpool City Region business achieving sustained growth, innovation, and strong leadership while demonstrating clear market understanding.

Innovation Award

Judges are looking for an organisation or individual which has demonstrated true vision, fresh thinking and innovation in business during the past year.

Business Leader of the Year

Honours an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, driving strong business performance and strategic impact.

Young Business Leader of the Year

Recognises an outstanding business leader under 35 who has shown significant achievement, leadership, and future potential.

City Region Champion

This prize will be awarded to an individual/business which has made an outstanding contribution to the Liverpool City Region during the past year. Whether through innovation, leadership, investment, or community impact, the recipient exemplifies a commitment to driving positive change and championing growth and prosperity.

The Community Award

This award will honour an organisation/business making a real difference to the community it works within by building a better future.
