The project proposes to transform the disused bowling green at the rear of APH into a โ€œmodern padel facilityโ€, complete with LED court lighting and landscaped surroundings. A new pedestrian entrance is also included in the plans, allowing access to the new courts from Mossley Hill Drive (Sefton Park).

Site clearance and groundworks are under way at the six-figure Birkdale Padel Club development in Victoria Park, which is the first project by Sefton Padel. Alongside the courts, the scheme will feature a grab-and-go coffee kiosk, vending machines for playing equipment, drinks and snacks, changing facilities, outdoor seating, cycle storage and an office for staff. Birkdale Padel Club will be open daily from 7am until 10pm and already has a waiting list of 2,500 people ahead of its launch.

The tower, designed by SimpsonHaugh, will comprise a 5-star hotel and luxury residences managed by the hotel operator. The news, revealed at the MIPIM international property trade fair, comes just weeks after the schemeโ€™s first tower of 28 storeys, named โ€˜No. 1 Kingsโ€™, received planning approval from Liverpool City Council.
