New Duke Street venue Filter and Fox will open its doors on Friday, with small plates, coffee and wine all on offer at the venue.

Replacing Duke St Espresso, which was run by the team behind Bold Street Coffee, the compact venue has been revamped and will offer small plates and coffee in the day, as well as cheese, wine and cocktails in the evenings.

The team behind the venue has experience at some of the city’s best venues including Hope Street Hotel, London Carriage Works and Salt Dog Slims and hopes the new venture will be a “neighbourhood hideout.”

A spokesperson for Filter and Fox, says: “This is our first solo venture and we want to continue to offer the same excellent service and high quality coffees at Duke St Espresso. We will offer small plates of food, wine by the glass and cocktails.

“We’re not trying to be a place for a ‘big night out’, we want Filter and Fox to be a neighbourhood hideout for the community on Duke Street. It is the perfect location as much of the Ropewalks is full and Duke Street is the next opportunity for small cafes, bars and shops to be successful.”

The venue will host wine tastings and coffee-themed events once it has opened its doors this week.
