Countryside Properties has ‘great opportunity’ with Liverpool Mutual Homes as tobacco factory plans are finally approved

Countryside Properties has welcomed Liverpool Council’s decision on the Imperial Tobacco site and says it looking forward to its new partnership with Liverpool Mutual Homes.

The factory site, on Boundary Lane Everton, ceased trading in 2007 and there have been numerous attempts to regenerate it after the 19th century office buildings were granted Grade II listed status in the same year.

Countryside filed a joint application with LMH to demolish parts of the 3.41 hectare site on Boundary Lane which are not listed by Historic England such as the water tower and chimney structure.

Peter Vella, regional sales and marketing director at Countryside Properties, says: “This is a great opportunity for us to work in partnership with Liverpool Mutual Homes to introduce affordable and high quality new homes into the area, whilst preserving the unique and historical features of the Grade II listed office building.”

The removal of the factory structures will allow for a mix of 70 two-bedroom, 53 three-bedroom and 10 four-bedroom two-storey properties, along with 19 apartments.

Peter adds: “We’ve already helped hundreds of first time buyers in Liverpool climb onto the property ladder through our exciting regeneration developments, and this is just the latest in a series of highly anticipated housing schemes that will cater for the growing demand for affordable rent and low cost home ownership across the city.”
