Football For Change (FFC), the charitable initiative led by football stars including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jamie Carragher and Conor Coady, has announced a donation of £22,000 to Zoe’s Place Liverpool’s emergency appeal.

Zoe’s Place offers respite, palliative, and end-of-life care for babies and children up to the age of five, as well as emotional and practical support for their families. The centre recently launched an urgent fundraising appeal to secure the funds needed to continue its work and prevent closure.

FFC, which typically funds projects aimed at lifting young people out of poverty through education, training, and sports programmes, has responded to the appeal by making a significant financial contribution.

Jamie Carragher says: “This emergency appeal is a chance for all of us to step up and make sure Zoe’s Place continues to offer the support and comfort so many families rely on. I am glad that Football For Change has been able to support the appeal with this donation. The way people all around the region have come together in support of Zoe’s Place has been incredible.”

A spokesperson for Football For Change adds: “The Football For Change family is all about giving back to the community, and right now, Zoe’s Place needs our help. This hospice holds a special place in the hearts of people throughout the North West, and people are rallying together to protect it. We wanted to play our part in that effort, and we hope this donation contributes to securing the future for Zoe’s Place.”

The donation follows the 2024 FFC gala which took place in Liverpool over the weekend. Musicians Paloma Faith and Texas performed at the event which was attended by Premier League football stars, celebrities and  business leaders.

FFC was launched in 2021 by Premier League footballers and Communities Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside to provide opportunities for young people affected by social and economic disadvantages.
