Hotel plan for Gostins Building

The Gostins Building on Hanover Street could be transformed into a hotel under new plans.

Proposals from applicant Hanover Holding for the retail arcade also include a 150-cover restaurant, café and gym.

According to plans submitted to Liverpool City Council, the hotel would utilise all seven floors of the city centre building which is currently home to a mixture of shops and offices.

A report included with the application says: “An alternative hotel scheme was approved in 2016, and as such the principle and scale of a hotel in this location is accepted as appropriate.”

Current retailers based in the arcade include Bluecoat Books, bespoke hat maker Laura Jane Millinery, hairdressers Route 69 and Collectamania.
