Housing will feature on the agenda as a two-day architecture and building conference gets underway in Liverpool city centre today (1 December).

Mike Quinton, chief executive of the National House Building Council, will be among a line-up of leading industry speakers at ArchitEX 2015, which is taking place at St George’s Hall.

The expert will address delegates on the subject of ‘raising the standards of new homes’ during the event, which will also bring key exhibitors together at the landmark city building.

Your Move’s sister title, Move Commercial, is a media partner of the event, which will also feature a talk by Deborah Aydon, executive director of the city’s Everyman Theatre, on ‘creating an Everyman for everyone’.

The iconic Hope Street cultural venue was awarded the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture in 2014 following an ambitious project to knock down the old building and rebuild a new incarnation of the theatre on the same site.
