Gallery: Legendary Liverpool nightclub demolished

One of Liverpool’s most well known nightclubs has been demolished to make way for new apartments.

Pleasure Rooms, which was popular during the late ’90s, closed its doors for the final time in 2013.

Mees Demolition started onsite at Wolstenholme Square last month and has now released images of the completion demolition which offer a fascinating glimpse into the former nightspot.

The news comes almost a year to the day since work started on the demolition of another legendary Wolstenholme Square club, ‘Nation’, which was home to world famous clubnight Cream.

Thomas Mee, managing director of Mees Demolition, says: “We know this area of the city very well after working on the clearing of Wolstenholme Square last year, where Cream once stood, to make way for a £40 million pound mixed use development by the Elliott Group.

“The demand for city centre living has led to a huge demand for our services and long may this continue.”
