New homes lined up for Croxteth Hall Lane

Additional housing could be built in Croxteth under new plans submitted to Liverpool City Council.

Proposals to construct 14 three-bedroom houses on a vacant plot of land on the corner of Oak Lane and Croxteth Hall Lane have been revealed.

Aimed at the family owner/occupier market, the new homes would include associated parking as well as rear gardens, and their design will be in keeping with existing properties in the surrounding area.

If planning permission is granted, the houses will be built using “traditional built forms and materials of Liverpool” to reflect the other homes nearby, which are a mixture of detached and new build semi-detached.

A statement issued to the council reads: “We feel that bringing the site into beneficial use will achieve the economic and environmental benefits as well as those of a visual impact to the street.

“The provision of good quality housing in close proximity to important commercial areas such as Croxteth will ensure that the housing accommodation is attractive to families and with the added benefit of reducing long distance commuting by car.”

Plans to build 14 houses feet away from existing properties, which will have a massive negative impact on this area. Not only will these new proposed houses be an eyesore, they will create a tremendous strain on this already congested area. They propose to build on a road that has had over 35 accidents and is a major accident hotspot.

Existing residents will be overlooked, be overshadowed by these awful three storey buildings. We will lose our view, there are flooding issues with this land at present and the wildlife will be massively affected by this construction. This new development will create anti social behaviour as they propose to build a car park for 21 cars and 14 houses on land which on the other side of this proposed development is larger & only has 8 properties.

Residents in the Croxteth Park area, Oak Lane & Croxteth Hall lane area please object as this council are allowing developers to build on any tiny available land, this could be happening to you soon. Please write to Victoria Vaughan-Williams @ Liverpool City Council, Municipal Buildings, Dale Street, Liverpool L2 2DH. Quoting reference number 17F/0143. There is no demand for houses in Croxteth it’s just a money making exercise for local government.

    Thank you.
