Hotel plans revealed for vacant city centre plot on Duke Street

Plans for a new 30-room hotel on Liverpool’s Duke Street within the Ropewalks area have been revealed.

Developer Living Brick is behind proposals for the four-storey scheme on a vacant site close to the city centre’s Chinese arch.

According to a planning application submitted to Liverpool City Council, the new structure will reflect the former building that once resided upon the plot which sits between a nursery and French-style café bar Petit Café Du Coin.

It’s envisaged that the 30-room ‘Duke Street Boutique’, listed as coming soon on Living Brick’s website, will feature a spacious lobby and seating area backdropped by an “impressive curving staircase”.

News of the project follows plans announced in August for another hotel from the developer on Jamaica Street in the Baltic Triangle.

Proposals for the ‘Baltic Hotel’ include a café, restaurant and a multi-storey roof extension.
