Site enabling and demolition works are set to begin at a vacant Liverpool city centre plot ahead of the construction of Jarron Developments’ £120 million residential scheme, The Forge.

The developer has confirmed that demolition and site clearance works are expected to start in the coming months following the submission of a Section 80 Notice to Liverpool City Council.

The work will include the demolition of the former Marble Hall Café and clearance of the site, marking the start of the pre-construction phase of the Pumpfields development.

Plans for The Forge include 400 apartments and townhouses as part of the continued regeneration of the northern city centre area.

Designed by Liverpool-based architectural practice Falconer Chester Hall, the scheme will include a range of shared facilities for residents, including a lounge, cinema, fitness hub and workspace.

Plans also include a rooftop terrace and what is being billed as Liverpool’s first rooftop running track, offering views across the city.

Further details on the construction timetable are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
