A fairytale themed lantern parade and a spectacular fireworks display signalled the opening of the Liverpool ONE ice festival.
Fairytale characters paraded the streets of the shopping district and live music entertained guests before a spectacular finale on the Sugar House Steps to launch the 2014 festival, which includes a 30-metre ice slide, an ice rink, an Apres Café bar and an ice bar.
Donna Howitt, marketing director at Liverpool ONE, says: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Ice Festival back to Liverpool ONE. It has always proved to be extremely popular with all of our visitors and it is great news that we have lots of new additions this year too.
The Ice Festival in Chavasse Park will be open until 4 January.
