Artisan traders on board for revamped Pier Head festival

More than 30 artisan food and drink traders will form part of a three-month festival on the city’s waterfront this summer.

The Pier Head Village, formerly The Liverpool Village, will return with independent market stalls enabling visitors to sample locally sourced produce and street food.

Other new additions for the 2017 festival  include The Village Beach Bar and Restaurant, an exciting collection of thrill rides and a purpose-built art gallery showcasing top regional talent.

The Pier Head Village runs from 30 June – 10 September.

Last call to nominate bars and restaurants for award

Food and drink venues could be in with a chance of winning the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.

Accolades are already lined up to be presented to establishments in the ‘Bar of the Year’ and ‘Taste’ categories during the 18 May event, but the public can also vote for any local tourism business to win the additional special title.

Voters have until 27 April to nominate worthy businesses online at www.lcrtourismawards.com.

The winner of the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and 16 other categories acknowledging all aspects of tourism will be presented at the black-tie ceremony at St George’s Hall.

Relocated arts market to feature food fair

Liverpool’s Summer Arts Market will this year include a dedicated food fair when it takes place at its new home of Liverpool Cathedral.

Following in the footsteps of its winter counterpart by moving from St. George’s Hall to the iconic Grade-I listed building, the fair will feature handmade products such as jams, chutneys, teas and truffles.

Alongside the food, a range of stalls will offer everything from photography, ceramics and jewellery to decorations, glassware and handmade beauty products. There’ll also be a pop-up vintage fair in the Concert Room.

The Summer Arts Market takes place on 17 June from 10am-7pm.
