Sutton Kersh is looking forward to 2015, after its December auction marked the end of a successful year.

The auctioneer is now inviting instructions for its first auction of 2015, which takes place on Thursday 12 February, having raised nearly £40 million in 2014 through its auctions.

The Merseyside property firm’s final sale of 2014 brought the total number of lots sold during the past 12 months to 517, with a total of £39.7 million generated throughout the year.

The December auction alone attracted proceeds of more than £6,400,000 as 80% of the lots on offer went under the hammer.

One highlight of the event was a fire damaged vacant apartment block on Conwy Drive in the Fairfield area of Liverpool, which had been advertised with a guide price of just £40,000 plus but then sold for £130,500. The purpose built block which features eight studio apartments requires a programme of refurbishment.

Reflecting on Sutton Kersh’s 2014 performance, auction manageress Cathy Holt says: “This has been another highly successful year in which we have consistently attracted large attendances and delivered strong results on behalf of our customers.”

The catalogue for the February auction closes on Friday 16 January.
