Spanish firm revealed as operator of new Old Hall Street hotel

Spanish hotel firm Meliá has been revealed as the operator of a new hotel in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district.

Innside Liverpool on Old Hall Street will include 200 rooms, fitness and meeting space and a rooftop restaurant.

The new hotel will form part of a new mixed-use development on the site of the Liverpool Echo building.

Surrounded by new office buildings and retail units as part of the wider development, Innside Liverpool will open in 2019 and will join four Meliá properties in the UK – ME London, Meliá White House (London), Innside Manchester and the upcoming Innside Newcastle.

The four-star Innside Manchester on First Street was the first to open in the UK under the Innside by Meliá brand.

Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, says: “Of all of our brands, Innside by Meliá is the one that has had the highest growth over the last five years, at the same time becoming increasingly international thanks to its customer value proposition and high profitability.

“That is also the reason it’s attracting investors and hotel owners all over the world. In particular, we are very confident that the Innside Liverpool will be an attractive new option for the city.”

Founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca, Meliá Hotels International is one of the largest hotel companies worldwide with over 370 hotels in more than 40 countries.
