Family-run construction firm Frank Rogers Building Contractors has handed majority ownership of the business to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), benefiting its 80 employees.
The Liverpool-based company, which specialises in construction and fire safety, has transferred 75% of its ownership to the trust, with the Rogers family retaining the remaining 25%.
Founded in Clubmoor more than 50 years ago by Frank Rogers, the business is now led by his son Dean, who took over as managing director in 2009 and will continue in the role under the new structure.
The move comes as Frank Rogers reports record annual turnover of £32 million, following continued growth across the construction and fire safety sectors, including major heritage and education projects.
Dean says the decision will protect the company’s independence and ensure its employees share in its future success.
“This is a significant milestone for the business and one that means a great deal to me personally,” he says.
“My dad founded Frank Rogers more than 50 years ago, building the business on hard work, strong relationships and a reputation for delivering quality work. When I took over the running of the company in 2009, I was determined to build on those foundations and take the business forward.”
The EOT, established with the help of Liverpool-based DSG Accountants and Glenville Walker Solicitors, holds shares collectively for the benefit of employees rather than giving them individual ownership.
Dean adds: “This isn’t the end of our family business story. It’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“We have ambitious plans for the years ahead, and I genuinely believe this structure provides a fantastic platform for continued growth, investment and opportunity.”
