Prostate Cancer UK is calling on Liverpool walkers to ‘March for Men’ this summer and help raise funds and awareness.

The charity will hold one of seven UK walks in the city in a bid to help stop men dying from prostate cancer.

Liverpool participants will be able to choose from 2k, 5k and 10k routes around Croxteth Hall and Country Park when the event takes place on 10 June.

According to the charity, prostate cancer kills one man every 45 minutes and in Liverpool 195 men a year die.

Walkers are being encouraged to sign up and raise funds for vital research into the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

James Beeby, associate director of fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, says: “The March for Men series of walks is a perfect step in the right direction to turn prostate cancer into a disease the next generation of men need not fear.”

A t-shirt and medal will be given to everyone who takes part in the March for Men, which is being backed by Burton Menswear.
