Africa Oyé 2019

The 27th Africa Oyé festival took place in South Liverpool’s Sefton Park, bringing two-days of free music and entertainment.
Festival-goers of all ages enjoyed a packed line-up celebrating African music and culture, with Jamaican legend Horace Andy among the headlining performers for 2019.
Crowds picnicked and partied in the sunshine as they watched a host of local and global artists during the popular event, which also featured free workshops in the Oyé Active Zone and DJ sets at its Trenchtown and Freetown stages.
This year the festival also coincided with Windrush Day, which celebrated the Caribbean community’s contributions to British society.
Other attractions at the Africa Oyé site included a wide range of stalls and food and drink traders for attendees to enjoy.
