Two opportunities to welcome visitors inside the childhood homes of Paul McCartney and John Lennon, both now owned and cared for by the National Trust, are being advertised by the conservation charity.

Located in South Liverpool, the former homes of the music legends have been carefully preserved and presented as they would have been when the McCartney and Lennon families lived there in the 1950s and 60s. 20 Forthlin Road, Paul McCartney’s childhood home, was where many of the Beatles’ earliest songs were composed and rehearsed.

According to the Trust, the Welcome and Service Assistant roles offer “excitement, a fast-paced working environment, and the chance to inspire visitors from around the world”.

The roles will involve being part of a team to lead tours at 20 Forthlin Road and ‘Mendips’, John Lennon’s childhood home, as well as being responsible for the day-to-day care of the properties.

Simon Osborne, general manager of the National Trust’s Liverpool properties, says: “The successful candidate must be as enthusiastic about bringing the early years of two of the Beatles’ stories to life as they are about caring for our visitors and providing an enjoyable experience.

“This is an incredible opportunity for any fan of the Beatles and provide excellent customer service.”
