Oliver Ormson, who is currently starring as Prince Hans in the West End musical adaptation of Frozen, made a guest appearance in the city this week as he returned to his former performing arts school.

During a special session at Liverpool Theatre School, Oliver helped to inspire the next generation of performers as he gave students an insight into life as a West End star, sharing tips and advice on how to make it in the performing arts industry.

He also answered questions from students as he talked about key moments on his journey to becoming a professional performer, which included three years on a full-time musical theatre training programme at Liverpool Theatre School.

Oliver, who has played lead roles in The Addams Family, Cats and the world premiere of Back to the Future: The Musical since graduating from Liverpool Theatre School 10 years ago, took time out from his busy schedule to spend a day at the performing arts school.

As part of his visit, the West End star was reunited with many of his former tutors as he was taken on a tour of the new facilities at Liverpool Theatre School, which re-located in 2019 from Aigburth to a new central hub on Sefton Street, near the city’s creative quarter.

Speaking on his return, Oliver said: “I have fantastic memories of Liverpool Theatre School and I’ll always be grateful for the important role my training has played in helping me to prepare for such an incredible career.

“I absolutely love what I do and it’s great to be invited back to speak to the next generation of talented students at Liverpool Theatre School who have some really exciting times ahead.”

Maxine Ellis, Liverpool Theatre School principal, adds: “We’re thrilled Oliver was able to take time out from his West End commitments to return to Liverpool Theatre School. Our students thoroughly enjoyed listening to him as he gave a personal account of his journey to becoming a professional performer.

“As someone who was once in their shoes, his story really did resonate with our current group of talented and ambitious students who all have the potential to go on to achieve anything.”
