Work on a 14-storey residential tower on Liverpool’s waterfront has restarted after a number of delays.

Herculaneum Quay, a residential scheme by Primesite Developments which is set to feature 101 apartments, a coffee shop, riverside seating and an outdoor spa pool, has suffered several setbacks.

However the developer says all but a handful of the apartments have been sold off-plan and work is now underway with a completion date of December 2016.

A spokesperson for Primesite Developments says: “Herculaneum Quay has been a little bit of a slow burner with a few issues causing delays – however I am delighted to say building has now started and we’re excited to unveil the scheme in December 2016. We are pleased to be delivering this project in a buoyant and thriving market”.

The tower has been designed by KDP Architects. Earlier this year Stuart Duffy, partner at KDP Architects, told Your Move the development will have a connection to the site’s maritime heritage.
