Plans to build 240 apartments on land at Brunswick Business Park look set for the go ahead.
Proposals from applicant North West Industrial Estates also include a residents’ gym, lounge area and five commercial units.
Liverpool City Council’s planning committee will meet at the town hall today (20 February) to discuss the scheme, which is recommended for approval.
Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the mixed-use scheme would reach up to 12 storeys and include total of 240 apartments – made up of 76 one-bedroom and 164 two-bedroom units.
A report to the council’s planning committee says: “The redevelopment of part of the Brunswick Business Park’s underused car park with a modern, well designed building provides the opportunity to visually enhance this highly prominent site with a development which creates a sense of place in an important dockside location.”
The development would be built on land bounded by Brunswick Dock, Summers Road, Century Buildings (pictured), and an area of car parking associated with Brunswick Business Park.
According to a heritage assessment included with the planning application, the car park was historically within Toxteth Dock, part of the port’s south docklands until their regeneration in the 1980s.
