Best for Christmas tipples

If you’re heading out in Liverpool to celebrate over the Christmas period then you certainly have plenty of options when it comes to festive themed drinks. To make the things a little easier, Your Move has sifted through the city’s best yuletide tipples to bring you our top five must visit venues. Enjoy!

The Monro

Duke Street, L1

Each year this Duke Street-based gastropub puts out a seasonal menu of cocktails, which are always met with favourable feedback. An open fire – perhaps to roast chestnuts – with the likes of Jack Daniels nipping at your nose, The Monro is the perfect retreat to get your taste buds racing from merry mixtures.

Trattoria 51

Old Hall Street, L3

On sale throughout December, this Italian eatery has a choice of three cocktails featuring traditional yuletide flavours and the colours of its national flag.

The ‘Merry Mocha’ is a coffee based cocktail containing Kahlua, cream and coca. Next is the visually pleasing ‘Candy Cane Martini’, which is made with gin, Prosecco and pomegranate juice. ‘The Grinch’, a lighter offering, features Midori, lemon juice and sugar syrup.

Hard Days Night Hotel

North John Street, L2

Bar Four located in this Beatles-inspired upmarket hotel is a stylish city-centre spot to relax in luxury all year round. They also have prepared a special drinks menu just in time for Christmas.

Options on the ‘Hot Liquor Beverages’ menu include ‘Mistletoe and Holly’ – a warming concoction of mint, chocolate and vanilla liquors combined with home made mulled wine, if your after something a little stronger then maybe the ‘Gingerbread Manhattan’, made with whiskey and Cinzano Rosso is more to your liking.

Brink

Parr Street, L1

Liverpool’s dry bar on Parr Street will be serving up a wide range of festive drinks this Christmas including mocktails and non-alcoholic pitchers.  Highlights include ‘Mulled mixed berry punch’, ‘Brink Toddy’, ‘Spiced Cherry’, ‘Seasonal Sherbet’ and ‘A Little Bit of Luxury’.

Rhum Bar

Back Colquitt St, L1

For a Noel knock-back with a twist, Rhum Bar & Cocktails’ yuletide tipple, ‘St Nic’s Sin’, is certainly one to seek out. Created by the bar’s senior mixologist Sophie Coyne, the drink is an indulgent mix of amaretto, Kraken black rum, double cream and whole milk.
