easyJet has today (25 June) announced the launch of a new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Budapest.
Flights to Hungary’s capital will begin on 19 November 2026 and operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, adding another direct winter city-break route from Liverpool.
The new service will provide direct access to Budapest, a city known for its historic architecture, thermal baths and cultural attractions.
Budapest is one of Europe’s most popular city break destinations, known for landmarks such as Buda Castle, the Parliament Building and the Chain Bridge.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK country manager, says: “We’re excited to be adding Budapest to our growing network from Liverpool, giving customers even more choice when planning their holidays.
“Budapest is a hugely popular destination, particularly during the winter season, and we’re confident this new route will appeal to customers looking for a great value city break and to travel with ease.”
Paul Winfield, aviation director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, adds: “We are pleased that easyJet is expanding choice for our passengers with the addition of Budapest, responding to strong demand for additional frequency to this popular destination.
“The new service enhances Liverpool’s connectivity for passengers across the North West and North Wales, while further strengthening our offering to key city break markets.”
“easyJet’s continued growth at the North West’s Faster, Easier, Friendlier Airport demonstrates the strength of the Liverpool market, and we anticipate this new service will prove very popular with travellers across the region.”
easyJet and easyJet holidays have introduced a ‘Book with Confidence’ promise for customers. The pledge states that flight and package prices will not increase after booking and that the airline intends to operate its full schedule as it prepares to carry more than 50 million passengers over the summer.
