Gigantic artwork unveiled at Littlewoods building

A giant street art installation inspired by Liverpool’s young creative talent has been unveiled at the city’s famous Littlewoods building.

The vast mural, which covers two 20m x 20m walls at the site, was painted by renowned graffiti specialist Replete and local artist Betarok75.

The artwork pays homage to Liverpool’s digital and creative industries and references local actress Katherine Rose Morley, musicians Lapsley and Louis Berry, and digital entrepreneur Leon Rossiter, all of whom inspired the piece.

Commissioned as part of the @GetItRight campaign, the mural is the fourth and final piece in the UK’s largest nationwide street art project which has seen 788 hours of painting and over 850 cans of spray paint used to cover a combined wall space of almost 1,400m sq.

Located on Edge Lane, the former Littlewoods Pools Building is being transformed into a state-of-the-art film studio by property developer Capital & Centric.

The £25 million project aims to create the “Pinewood of the North” and it is estimated that it will bring around 900 jobs to the region.
